The African Venture Philanthropy Alliance (AVPA) is a unique and vibrant Pan-African network of social investors, established as a systematic effort to accelerate progress in addressing Africa's daunting social challenges by increasing private social investment. AVPA serves as a catalyst to attract, connect and empower social investors across Africa. AVPA is African-based, African-led and substantially African-funded, and pursues its mission by providing members with critical services that better equip them to: • Connect with other like-minded investors in Africa and around the globe; • Learn about best practices, state-of-the-art models and tools and other techniques that increase impact; • Influence organizations and policy makers to standardize, legislate and advance social investment; • Scale social innovation programs and enterprises through strategic collaborations and blended finance.
