Amplio Network
Amplio's mission is to empower the world's most vulnerable communities through knowledge sharing. Our innovative technology is built around the Amplio Talking Book, an easy-to-use, battery-powered audio device designed for people with low-literacy skills. Amplio partners with international organizations, governments, and NGOs help amplify their reach in rural, remote communities. With the Talking Book, development practitioners can share hours of local language audio content, with multiple topics and playlists. Users can listen to messages and record their feedback. A built-in speaker allows families and groups to listen and learn together. The device runs on locally available and rechargeable batteries. Because our technology collects usage statistics and user feedback, organizations can monitor and evaluate their programs, identify issues and trends, and continually update their content for greater impact. Since 2007, Talking Books have reached over 1M people. The Talking Book was originally field-tested and designed with communities in Ghana. We now have partners in others countries, like Kenya, Liberia, Ethiopia, Burkina Faso, Niger, and Zambia. In 2021, Talking Book programs will expand to South Asia (Bangladesh) and Latin America (Haiti). Partners like UNICEF, CARE, and Voluntary Service Overseas are using Talking Books across multiple sectors, including agriculture, health, education, gender equality, land rights, WASH, and more. The Talking Book is recognized by UNESCO as an inclusive digital solution that people with low literacy skills can use to learn new skills and knowledge to improve their lives. Got a project?
