Aurora University
Aurora University is a private institution founded in 1893, originally as Mendota Seminary in Illinois. It moved to Aurora in 1912 and became Aurora College before adopting its current name in 1985. The university serves around 6,200 students and offers a range of undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs, emphasizing accessibility through evening and online education. The academic offerings include liberal arts, nursing, education, business, and social work at the undergraduate level, along with advanced degrees in education, business administration, social work, and healthcare. Aurora University also features specialized programs through the George Williams School of Social Work, reflecting its merger with George Williams College in 2000. The campus includes historic buildings and modern facilities, with additional programs available at the University Center in Woodstock, Illinois.
