Boğaziçi University
Boğaziçi University is a prominent higher education institution in Turkey, established in 1863 as Robert College, the first American college outside the U.S. It became Boğaziçi University in 1971 when the Turkish government took control of the campus. The university is located on a 118-acre South Campus in Istanbul, featuring a mix of historic buildings and modern facilities. The university offers a wide range of academic programs, including undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degrees across various fields such as humanities, social sciences, engineering, and natural sciences. It comprises four faculties, two schools, and six institutes, along with twenty research centers focusing on interdisciplinary projects. Boğaziçi University also fosters a vibrant student life with over 40 clubs, sports facilities, and cultural activities, attracting around 15,000 students through competitive entrance exams.
