In its infancy, boomsatsuma was established to provide the highest quality provision for young people in the arts in the West of England. Since then, it has continually developed and broadened to incorporate post-16, secondary and primary level education as well as apprenticeships, arts projects and community engagement. This development is the result of collaboration with educators, employers and young people themselves across the region and has led to some of the most engaging and effective opportunities for young people across the South West and beyond. boomsatsuma is now one of the most innovative post-16 education providers in the South West. Our ethos of fuelling the next creative generation has driven the development of our Media Production Diplomas - our hugely popular post-16 courses which have immersion, opportunity and real-world experience as their core values. These diplomas have quickly become flagship offerings that accompany our other courses run in traditional colleges and sixth forms. From September 2018, we will have over 300 students across more than ten centres, offering media production and professional acting diplomas. With creativity at the heart of everything we do, we offer our students access to creative workplaces that will inspire them and drive them forward. For this reason, we offer media courses at exciting venues such Engine Shed, Ashton Gate with Bristol City, The Bottle Yard Studios and the Curzon Cinema in Clevedon. Our unique professional acting course is taught at The Station in Bristol city centre and Pegasus Theatre in Oxford. As a result of this, our students develop their learning in dynamic working environments. As a respected provider of public sector contracts, we are currently delivering the Bristol WORKS contract for Bristol City Council and have just completed a 3-year contract setting up a Participatory Arts programme for Bath and North East Somerset Council.
