The Chamber of Financial Auditors of Romania (CAFR) is the professional body in charge of organizing, coordinating and authorizing the financial audit activity in Romania. The Chamber of Financial Auditors of Romania (CAFR) was established by means of Government Ordinance no. 75/1999 concerning the financial audit. The mission of the Chamber of Financial Auditors of Romania (CFAR) is to build the identity and the public recognition of the financial audit profession in Romania, targeting the sustainable development of the profession and its strengthening. At present, in Romania, the Chamber of Financial Auditors is the professional body which organizes, coordinates and authorizes financial audit activities, overseen by the Council for the Public Oversight of the Accounting Profession (CSIPPC). CAFR main activities include: • Awarding the financial auditor qualification, in compliance with the law and with the Chamber's regulations • Continuous professional training • Professional training for trainees and organizing the examinations required to enter the profession • Providing services to members, in order to support them in their activity • Controlling and overseeing the activity of Chamber's members • Developing domestic and international relations with institutions, professional bodies (PAOs) and the business environment. CAFR is a full member in the International Federation of Francophone Expert Accountants (FIDEF), in the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) and in the European Federation of Accountants (FEE). Also, CAFR is an institutional member of the International Association for Accounting Education and Research (IAAER). CAFR is represented in IFAC's Professional Accountancy Organizations Development Committee and also in the FEE working parties (Audit Working Party, Capital Markets Working Party, Qualification and Market Access Working Party, Professional Ethics Working Party etc.).
