Camp Fire Snohomish County Council
Serving Snohomish County through camping and group programs for children ages 3 and up. Camp Fire Snohomish County is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit youth organization serving Snohomish County and Camano Island. Camp Fire was founded nationally in 1910. Our council started in 1930. We have owned and operated Camp Killoqua since 1941. Members include boys and girls, preschool - High School, and their families. Through a program of informal education, recreation, and social interaction, Camp Fire provides opportunities for youth to realize their personal potential and to function effectively as adults. This helps build stronger families and better communities. In 2011 our council provided 279,077 hours of program services to 7,466 children. We are governed by a 36 member Board of Directors, 60 member Associate Board and 450 dedicated volunteers. Our programs include: • Small Group Club Program • Mega Clubs for Low Income Children • Self Reliance Skill Building Courses • Teens in Action Community Service Program • Programs at Camp Killoqua, including: • Resident Camp • Day Camp • Grief Camp for children who have lost a loved one • Inclusion Camp for Children with Developmental Disabilities • Outdoor Education • After School Program
