Commonwealth Inclusive Growth Services Ltd. (CIGS), a Strategic Partner of Commonwealth Business Council (CBC), has been incorporated in India in the year 2008, with a view to bank the un-banked and under-banked segments of the society – popularly known as ‘Financial Inclusion (FI)' Services – in an economically viable and socially relevant manner, in association with banks and other eligible entities. To comply with the then regulatory requirement, a Section25 Company, Commonwealth Inclusive Growth Foundation (CIGF), was also incorporated, in 2009, to act as the Business Correspondent (BC) to banks. Dr. Mohan Kaul, Chairman Emeritus of Commonwealth Business Council and Chairman of Commonwealth Investment Corporation, is the non-executive Chairman of CIGS and Mr. Mahesh Ramachandran, who is the Co-Founder, is the Managing Director and CEO of CIGS; they both are Directors on the Board of CIGF. The Company is managed by a committed set of people with rich & varied experience in the field of banking, technology, marketing and governance. Vision: To bring the majority of the economically active un-banked adult population into formal banking system, through leveraging technology and innovative business processes. Mission: By the end of FY 2018-19, serve at least ten million customers, through a network of about 10,000 Business Correspondent Agents; clock at least 50 million Remittance Transactions.
