Couch Critic is a mobile application resource for personalized digital media content review in a social media environment. The vacuum in the online review industry is the inability to create and exchange critical reviews of digital media content with individuals you know and trust. One is faced with either algorithms predicting your tastes (mostly unsuccessfully), or compiled averages of individuals you've never met. The Couch Critic mobile app provides trustworthy reviews from people you know – friends, co-workers, family members, etc. It provides a platform where users can write and read reviews, view trailers, listen to audio excerpts, check out demos, and discover where any given content is streaming, available as a download, or in some cases currently playing in a local theatre or venue. Most importantly, users can create an "inner circle" of reviewers including their most trusted friends.
