Using modern technology to speed the delivery of life saving eqipment in an emergency. Working within the community to make life safer. Speedy medical attention is the key to survivalā¦. The aim of defibfinder is to find the location of defibrillators and then register their location using postcodes and geo tagging. The organisation will aim to train and educate thousands of people to be proficient and confident in both resuscitation (CPR) and defibrillation. The database will help highlight gaps within communities where equipment is needed and we will assist in fundraising, where possible. Our aim is to save at least 25 people per week from certain death and many more victims from brain damage following a heart attack. From an idea over a cup of coffee defibfinder now has over 20 volunteers and supporters ranging from PR experts, operations directors, Professors, fundraisers to graphic designers. defibfinder is a not for profit organisation. Time is of the essenceā¦ why 8 minutes are crucial For a victim of a heart attack where the heart has stopped or is out of rhythm and not pumping (and no first aid is administered) the survival rate is around 5% however the victim's chances of survival increases dramatically with good quality CPR and defibrillation by 10 fold to 50%.
