Deviant Compassion Consulting
Deviant Compassion Consulting is a statewide leader in providing insightful strategy, and engaging professionals from all sectors around trauma-informed approaches, policy, and systems change, and workplace cultural shifts. We're here to make sure helping doesn't hurt. The Deviant team offers a combined 30+ years in org systems, nonprofit, employee development, and intersectional trauma-informed practice expertise. Our Guiding Values: We make sure helping doesn't hurt - our mission and objective remind us to hold ourselves accountable for our impact and mindful of our intention. Trauma-informed practice is an inside-out process - Change must be demonstrated to our staff if we hope to create safe and long-term outcomes for our clients. Brave spaces and safe relationships aren't negotiable - Trauma-informed care holds justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion at its center. You can't have one without the other - and people need both to feel safe. Shared power makes everything work better - our collaborators and partners have the wisdom we need and the perspectives we value. Being challenged to change is a healthy part of a collaboration. Cultural humility starts with empathy and requires us to hold the experiences of those we don't understand with the same regard as we hold our own. Perfectionism is part of white supremacy culture – Humans don't need to be perfect and there are infinite ways to do things well. We have ideas and tools to offer, but our biggest value is in our ability to balance curiosity and creativity + candor and compassion.
