We are a leading independent ecological consultancy business, established in 2008, based in Dunblane in Central Scotland. We have an in-house team of 11 ecologists and an office manager. We undertake the full range of ecological surveys and reporting for proposed development sites including renewable energy schemes such as windfarms and hydro-schemes. We are experienced in BREEAM assessments for ecology. Other services offered include Ecological Clerk of Works services; training courses for protected species; GIS work and bird collision modelling. Our specialist areas include bats, birds, otters, water vole, badgers, phase 1 habitats, NVC survey, bryophyte survey, fresh water pearl mussel, red squirrel, pine marten, wildcat and amphibians and we hold appropriate survey licences. We also have extensive experience of obtaining development licences for protected species. We are specialist bat surveyors and undertake licensed surveys, building assessment, tree climbing, remote monitoring, transects and watches. We have extensive in-house bat survey equipment and are experienced in sound analysis as well as bat mitigation work. Direct Ecology Ltd can undertake full Ecological Impact Assessments for both major and small scale development sites. All our ecologists hold CSCS cards. The company holds appropriate insurances including public liability, employer's liability and professional indemnity.
