Direction de l'Aviation Civile Luxembourg
The Direction de l'Aviation Civile Luxembourg (DAC) is the competent authority of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in matters relating to aviation safety and security. The DAC's mission includes: - assisting and advising the Minister of Transport in the execution of his responsibilities in the field of civil aviation ; - ensuring the safety and security of all civil aviation activities in Luxembourg by issuing specific regulations and ensuring that they are respected by all operators in the civil aviation sector ; - managing the Civil Aircraft Register ; - processing applications for Air Transport Operating licenses and Air Operator Certificates ; - issuing – without prejudice to the powers reserved to the Minister – of licenses, certificates, approvals and any other authorization required by the legislation or regulations in force and monitoring compliance with them ; - ensuring the conservation or improvement of the level of safety and security in the aeronautical field in accordance with national and international legislation and regulations ; - controlling the activities of the various service providers at the airport as a public authority acting independently from the airport's managing entity ; - certifying and providing continuous supervision of air navigation service providers and air traffic controllers as the independent national supervisory authority of air navigation service providers.
