America is facing a dilemma both in terms of food security, hunger, nutrition, health and wealth. These problems are not segregated to one or two communities, but crosses all socio-economic lines. Although some communities face greater challenges that others. Generally the response the response from government, non-profits or their joint civil society efforts has been a "plug a finger in the dike approach. That is to say, feed the homeless, the needy and the home bound with programs such as: soup kitchens, food distribution centers, feeding sites and SNAP (formerly food stamp) voucher systems. While these much needed forms of assistance are greatly appreciated and address and meet immediate needs, the structural and systemic causes are left untouched. As a result of this gap between meeting the needs of our most venerable and at risk populace and governmental and civil society efforts a new integrated approach is needed. E.A.T. w/ Culinary Arts Professionals innovative approach looks at not just alleviating the problems associated with; food security, hunger, nutrition health and wealth is a transcendent approach with goals to eradicate the aforementioned problems. Just as polio has been largely eradicated from the USA and globally, we believe that a comprehensive integrated approach can accomplish this in various communities. E.A.T. w/ Culinary Arts Professionals are equipped to tackle these challenges head on by providing housing, educating community members in agricultural sustainability along with teaching life skills and nutrition to the general population.
