Genossenschaft Deutscher Brunnen eG (GDB)

The Cooperative of German Mineralwater Companies (GDB) is the purchasing and service organization of the German mineral water companies with around 180 member companies and a sales volume of around € 160 million in 2019. In addition to the trading business, a significant part of its tasks is to manage the reusable bottle pools of the German mineral wells. About every third bottle in the mineral water market is currently a returnable bottle from GDB. With around 1 billion bottles, the GDB reusable system is the largest reusable system in Europe. There are also the subsidiaries PETCYCLE and LOGICYCLE. PETCYCLE is the PET return system used by medium-sized mineral water companies in Germany. Established 20 years ago, PETCYCLE is one of the pioneers in the circular economy in Germany. In addition to pool management, LOGICYCLE offers various services relating to reusable systems.
