Girls Fight Back
Owned by international speaker and self-defense expert Nicole Snell, Girls Fight Back was founded in 2001 by Erin Weed in honor of her friend and sorority sister, Shannon McNamara. Girls Fight Back's mission is to provide practical and empowering options for women, girls and people of all gender identities to learn violence prevention, personal safety, awareness, boundary setting and physical self-defense techniques in a fun, supportive, judgement free and upbeat environment. We offer several gender inclusive programs designed to make preventing violence and fighting back an approachable topic for everyone. Girls Fight Back has reached over 1 million people worldwide at colleges, K-12 schools, corporations, conventions, the US military and private groups with our live, high energy, interactive seminars designed to help people live a safer life, feel more confident in their options and be their own best protector. Programs are customizable and available in person or virtually. Nicole addresses a variety of topics including self-defense, empowerment, travel safety, hiking/running safety, sexual harassment, campus safety, corporate safety training, workplace harassment, boundary setting, assertive communication, sexual assault prevention, and consent. She developed a new program, Yes I'm Hiking Solo: Self-Defense for the Outdoors to address safety for solo travelers, hikers and outdoor adventurers.
