Hereford Hospitals is the main provider of acute services across Herefordshire and parts of Wales. With an annual turnover of around £118million, we employ more than 1,800 staff and operate in a state of the art building opened in 2002 under a Private Finance Initiative (PFI). NHS Herefordshire and Powys Local Health Board commission most of our services – accounting for 85.4% and 9.2% of our patient care income respectively, a total of 94.6%. Our services Accident and Emergency Department Emergency in-patient medical care, including heart and respiratory illnesses Day case and routine surgery, including cataracts and hip and knee replacements A dedicated cancer unit - Hereford Hospital is part of the 3 Counties Cancer Network (Fundraising is now complete for a new cancer unit on site, in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support) Maternity & Paediatrics Services Outpatient Clinics Diagnostic Services The Trust has some of the shortest waiting times in the country and boasts an effective and efficient workforce who work hard to consistently exceed national performance targets. The Trust's application for Foundation Trust status remains on hold whilst Hereford Hospitals NHS Trust, NHS Herefordshire and Primary Care Trust Provider Services seek to develop a new Integrated Care Organisation (ICO) which brings together acute, community health and adult social care, which will be subject to Co-operation and Competition Panel approval.
