Innovation Democracy

Innovation Democracy is a nonprofit organization, with a mission to support local innovation and entrepreneurship in countries important to world stability. The Innovation Democracy program demonstrates that it is possible to initiate effective development in such countries, including Afghanistan, even as conventional approaches are hindered by poverty and political instability. It is founded on the premise that grassroots, profit-motivated initiatives will produce self-perpetuating returns to the society and economy. In other words, the most effective development takes place by empowering individuals—a trickle up rather than trickle down theory of development.
