Jewish United Fund of Metropolitan Chicago
The Jewish United Fund (JUF) is a nonprofit organization based in Chicago, serving as the central philanthropic body for the Jewish community. Established in 1900, JUF has evolved into one of Illinois' largest social welfare institutions, supporting over 500,000 individuals locally and millions globally through a network of more than 100 agencies and initiatives. JUF focuses on humanitarian aid, education, and community support, operating on principles of collective responsibility and Jewish values. It provides essential services such as food, healthcare, and emergency assistance to vulnerable populations in Chicago and beyond. JUF also funds educational initiatives that promote Jewish identity and community engagement, while offering programs for seniors, immigrants, and individuals with disabilities. Additionally, it supports Jewish communities in crisis zones and contributes to disaster relief efforts. JUF raises funds through its Annual Campaign and publishes *JUF News*, a newsletter covering relevant issues in the Jewish community.
