KEW Technology Ltd is a UK headquartered company with the vision of developing products addressing two significant global challenges simultaneously – effective biomass/waste utilisation and sustainable energy supply. The company has developed and commercially deployed a unique Advanced Thermal Conversion technology. This unique and IP protected technology effectively converts low-grade biomass and waste streams into a wide range of sustainable energy vectors for a net-zero carbon future. The technology was selected by the Energy Technologies Institute (ETI); a public-private partnership between UK government, BP, Rolls-Royce, Shell, Caterpillar, and E.On amongst others following an extensive competitive review and identification of technologies that form a key part of Net Zero carbon delivery. KEW has since worked in partnership with the ETI to design, engineer and construct the Sustainable Energy Centre (SEC), a world-first flagship commercial demonstrator delivered by KEW’s established management team with expertise across technology, operations and commercialisation. The company strategy is to build standardised product offerings around the unique technology for focused market sectors using KEW’s core products offering built upon an ultra-low emissions modular platform ideal for integration into industrial and commercial premises with a versatile energy product. The 3 main process systems are divided up and each provide heat (XTH – ‘X – anything to heat’), reductant gas or electricity (XTE – ‘X – anything to equilibrium’), or fuels such as hydrogen and SAF (XTF – ‘X – anything to fuel). The modules can be arranged according to the energy needs of the client and multiplexed to meet their larger energy requirements. Overall, the process is a patent protected true advanced gasification process exclusive to KEW and can be used at high efficiency for multiple end-uses in a circular solution enabling effective and impactful decarbonisation of industry and products.
