KMOP - Social Action and Innovation Centre is a leading non-profit organisation, founded in 1977 - one of the oldest Greek NGOs with more than 40 years of accumulated experience in the provision of services to disadvantaged groups. KMOP is committed to actively contributing in creating a better world. That is a world that rests on a foundation of sustainable development, social growth, and individual well-being. We work with the public and private sectors and civil society to drive solution-oriented, knowledge-based interventions that are crucial to fostering resilience and making the world a better place to live. KMOP's main areas of expertise include: -Fostering Social Cohesion through combatting unemployment -Protecting Human Rights – Counter human trafficking activities -Promoting children well-being and combatting bullying -Education and skills development -Women's Empowerment -Promoting modern social protection systems and social services -Mental health & well-being -Active & healthy ageing KMOP has developed over the years a number of small and large scale actions and interventions for various target groups, such as: -Mentally ill & disabled people -Long term unemployed & low-skilled individuals -Elderly -Victims of violence & trafficking -Children and youth facing difficult situations -Families facing various challenges -Migrants, asylum seekers& unaccompanied minors KMOP has an impressive track record of over 200 projects, of which over 50 projects have been funded and co-funded by the European Commission (EuropeAid, Life Long Learning, Erasmus +, DAPHNE, Leonardo, ESF, etc.). By capitalising on our experience and solid background in social protection and empowering vulnerable populations, we have managed to cultivate and establish international collaborations, allowing us to provide hands-on support in developing countries (like Kosovo, Egypt, FYROM and Bosnia & Herzegovina), through technical assistance contracts and action grants.
