Leadership For Equity

Leadership For Equity (LFE), formally registered as Leadership For Skilled Education Foundation, is a systems-change and advisory organization that helps government school systems deliver quality education at scale. LFE currently works with more than 620+ field officers and 670+ Teacher mentors, impacting 33,200+ teachers and 14.5 lakh+ students across Maharashtra. Since 2017, LFE has been the academic advisor (knowledge partner) to the School Education Department, Govt. of Maharashtra, and supports 6 government bodies. LFE aims to strengthen the existing government structures and mechanisms in education through onsite and technology-based support to teachers and field officers. LFE is a small yet enterprising team consisting of individuals coming from diverse backgrounds, with varied expertise and life experiences, all of whom add their unique character to shape our collective identity. LFE was born from a coming together of committed practitioners who acknowledge the complex, multi-faceted, and multi-layered nature of social inequities. We work closely with our stakeholders to understand and find holistic solutions for some of these problems without over-simplifying them in a hurry to find a technical fix. Our approach is firmly rooted in the belief that public systems are by definition, the gatekeepers to equity, and that sensitive and effective public system will ensure that all children learn. Our work brings together multiple stakeholders - from students to government officials and partner organizations - to reach its vision: 'Public Education Systems That Refuse To Let Children Down'
