Lough Ree Distillery
Lough Ree Distillery is a family-owned micro-distillery located in Lanesborough, County Longford, Ireland. Founded by the Clancy siblings, Peter, Michael, and Sheila, the distillery aims to revitalize their hometown by blending traditional whiskey-making techniques with modern technology. It is situated on the banks of Lough Ree, a historically significant location for Irish whiskey distribution. The distillery produces a variety of spirits, including Irish whiskey, Sling Shot Gin, vodka, liqueurs, poitÃn, and fruit-based spirits. Lough Ree Distillery is the first distillery to open in County Longford in over 200 years, with a production capacity of 50,000 cases of premium whiskey and 15,000 cases of gin and other white spirits annually. The facility also features a visitor center, offering tours and educational experiences to engage with the local community and promote Irish spirits.
