Lund Stem Cell Center is committed to excellence in stem cell research, rigorous and thoughtful training for the next generation of scientists, and the long-term goal of making stem cell therapies a reality. Research at the center is diverse, covering several aspects of developmental and stem cell biology, including but not limited to restorative neurology, hematopoiesis, endocrine cell differentiation, lung bioengineering and bone formation processes. This research is pioneering towards development and innovation of treatment of neurological diseases, blood disorders, cancer and diabetes, among others. One major goal of Lund SCC is to become a major force in translational research and career development in biomedical research. Over the past ten years our interdisciplinary approach has strengthened significantly with the support of the Stategic Research Area “StemTherapy”; particularly in terms of expanding our technological advances and integration of new, young principal investigators. The center consists of 42 outstanding research groups; totalling over 250 employees, represented by over 40 nationalities. Stem Cell Center members are employed at several different departments and divisions at the Faculty of Medicine at Lund University and many have links to Skåne University Hospital.
