NovaWind
NovaWind JSC is a division of Rosatom; its primary objective is to consolidate the State Corporation's efforts in advanced segments and technological platforms of the electric power sector. Founded in 2017 with a charter capital of RUB 1.101 billion, the company consolidates all of the Rosatom's wind energy assets. NovaWind implements the corporation's strategy in the wind energy business. The strategy success requires forming of new competencies in Russia, such as wind farms' construction and management, localization and ramp-up production of wind turbines, marketing and sales of new products along with their top quality after-sales support. WindSGC JSC, which has been implementing construction projects for wind farms with a total capacity of 660 MW since 2016, is included in the NovaWind JSC management structure. In the new business structure, WindSGC JSC is responsible for the design and construction of wind farms as well as production of electric power based on wind energy. Construction projects for wind farms with a total capacity of 532,5 MW that were selected on a competitive basis in 2017 were transferred to WindSGC-2 JSC. The VetroSGC-2 applications totalling 192,5 MW were selected under the investment project tender for the construction of renewable energy source based generating facilities. The total portfolio of NovaWind JSC is now about 1,2 GW, which corresponds to 35% of the wind energy market in Russia. The submitted applications relate to projects to be commissioned in 2023–2024. NovaWind JSC is an equal shareholder in a joint venture with a Dutch technology partner – Lagerwey. The Red Wind Joint Venture was established in November 2017. Red Wind B.V. is responsible for turnkey delivery of wind turbines and production of their components in Volgodonsk. Annual manufacturing facility output totals to 120 wind turbines a year.
