The Open Source Self Driving Car (OSSDC) Initiative is fully organized and managed on GitHub at: https://github.com/OSSDC/ I invite everyone to join the discussion and contribute, follow the instructions here: http://ossdc.org/join The mission of this initiative and open organization is to bring the best research in self driving car space and build a full stack of open source software and hardware components to allow anyone to build and test toy and full size self driving cars. This all started 2 months ago when I joined the Udacity Self Driving Car challenges, and I realized the need for this initiative as independent work without any company interest dragging it in any specific direction.
