Power Foundation

.POWER is an organisation started by Indian women rights activist and social entrepreneurs as part of a vision to build a better world for under privileged women and girls especially in India, and to work for effective implementation of the Millennium Development Goals in the context of women in India. POWER is especially concerned with finding practical models of ensuring achievement of MDG Goals 3, 4 and 5. Goal 3, which states the need to promote gender equality and empower women. Goal 4, the need to reduce child mortality. Goal 5, the need to improve eternal heath. POWER is an independent, non-profit organisation for intervention, grass root project implementation and networking on contemporary gender issues. POWER aims to develop future ideas for gender equality and development that are politically practicable, socially acceptable and economically viable. Thus, we hope to work as both a think-tank devoted to developing alternative future development scenarios, and a foundation devoted to implementing grass root projects.
