In an effort to provide a sustainable and innovative way of repurposing marine waste, Reelease was born. Our aim is to extract the plastic constituents of mooring ropes, ghost nets and other marine waste in order to give them a new life. Effectively upcycling plastic in the marine industry, while also creating an incentive to do so. We aim to extract the plastic constituents of the ropes in an environmentally friendly way and repurpose them for use in future products. With the recycled plastic we can create new products using technologies such as 3D printing or injection molding. Cutting edge R&D will play an important role, with industry and educational tie-ups to maximise the innovative ways that plastic ropes can be Reeleased back to the community for a more sustainable future. Our goal is to minimize the carbon footprint resulting from the disposal of mooring ropes and create a green incentive in favour of the process and to lead the marine industry forward to an eco-friendly future.
