Save the Children began its work in Tanzania in Pemba Island- Zanzibar working on maternal and newborn health. Since then, Save the Children Tanzania has expanded its programming to more than thirteen (13) regions in Mainland Tanzania and two (2) in Zanzibar (Unguja and Pemba). Save the Children supports children in health and nutrition, child protection, education, and child rights governance programming, using a system strengthening approach, partnering with the Government of Tanzania, civil society organizations, and international organizations. Our Vision: - A world in which every child attains the right to survival, protection, development and participation. Our Mission: To inspire breakthroughs in the way the world treats children, and to achieve immediate and lasting change in their lives.
