Scholars of Finance - GWU
At George Washington University, the Scholars of Finance (SoF) chapter is dedicated to shaping the next generation of principled leaders in finance. We are part of a growing national nonprofit organization that partners with students, universities, and industry leaders to transform the culture of finance through values-based leadership development. Our chapter is built on the belief that finance is more than markets and numbers, but a powerful tool for impact. By uniting students who aspire to enter the financial industry, we create a community where integrity, curiosity, and service guide our growth. Through mentorship, workshops, speaker events, and hands-on experiences, members learn how to align their careers with a higher purpose while building the technical and professional skills required to succeed in the industry. The GWU chapter engages closely with professionals across investment banking, asset management, private equity, hedge funds, and fintech. These connections provide students with unique insights into the challenges and opportunities of the financial world, while also fostering meaningful relationships with mentors who embody ethical leadership. Our members also benefit from national SoF resources, including career development programs, access to thought leaders, and a supportive network that extends far beyond campus. Ultimately, our goal is to equip students with the tools and mindset to not only excel in their careers, but to lead with character and use finance as a force for good. We are committed to developing leaders who ask not only “How can I succeed?” but also “How can I serve?” If you are a student, professional, or organization interested in supporting this mission, we welcome you to connect with us and explore how you can be part of transforming the future of finance.
