Mission Shukuru's mission is to provide orphaned and vulnerable girls in developing countries access to education and economic opportunity. Company Overview Shukuru is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that provides entrepreneurial solutions for under-privileged girls in sub-Saharan Africa to achieve educational and long-term self reliance. The organization is headquartered in San Francisco, CA. Description During our pilot project, girls will be earning income by raising and selling chickens. Their savings is matched by donors and one year in the program, a girl earns enough money to pay for four years of secondary school. General Information Shukuru's pilot is based in Tanzania, East Africa with plans to expand to other developing countries where girls are disproportionately blocked from continuing their education.
