Sigma Kappa at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University
Welcome to the Lambda Kappa Chapter of Sigma Kappa at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Founded in 1874 at Colby College in Maine, Sigma Kappa has grown into a lifelong sisterhood of more than 226,000 members across 119 collegiate and 98 alumnae chapters. Together, we are united by values of personal growth, leadership, scholarship, and service. Established in 2019 at Embry-Riddle’s Daytona Beach campus, Lambda Kappa proudly carries forward our founders’ vision while building our own legacy at one of the world’s top aviation and aerospace universities. With 78 active members and 88 alumnae, our chapter reflects the strength and ambition of women in STEM and aviation. Sisters pursue degrees in Aeronautical Science, Aerospace Engineering, Aviation Business Administration, Software Engineering, and more, showing that scholarship and sisterhood thrive together. Our members and alumnae embody ambition, resilience, and leadership. Many of our alumnae are now shaping industries and organizations such as NASA, the U.S. Military, Flexjet, TurbineAero, Pratt & Whitney, and beyond. Service is central to who we are. Guided by Sigma Kappa’s five national philanthropies, including the Sigma Kappa Foundation, Alzheimer’s Disease Research, the Maine Seacoast Mission, and Inherit the Earth, we dedicate our time and energy to causes that matter. From the Walk to End Alzheimer’s to year-round community service projects, we are proud to make an impact both locally and nationally. Our sisterhood embodies the values of collaboration, ethical leadership, and discovery. Together, we are future pilots, engineers, scientists, and innovators, united in sisterhood and committed to leaving a lasting legacy in the skies and beyond.
