Singapore National Co-operative Federation (SNCF)
The Singapore National Cooperative Federation (SNCF) is the national Apex body that represents Singapore's co-operative movement (more information on SNCF is available at: www.sncf.org.sg). Co-operative is a form of Social Enterprise (SE) and SNCF currently has more than 70 affiliates, with a total membership of in excess of 1 million in Singapore. Some of our Affiliates are NTUC's Fairprice, Income, and the NUS Co-op, etc. SNCF believes that Singaporeans can make the greatest difference to society through the Co-operative Movement. With a base of more than 1.38 million people, one in three working Singaporean is a member of a Co-operative Enterprise. The Movement's massive reach and relevance have touched almost every corner of a Singaporean's life, while contributing more than $600 million to the Singapore economy (based on Gross Domestic Product 2010) annually. From moderating the price of staples at grocery outlets and food courts, to ensuring the affordability of healthcare and medicine; from catering to the tender needs of the early childhood education sector to providing employment and continued skills upgrading to security and civil service personnel; from inculcating character values at campuses to providing members with access to loans and credit facilities.
