Slovenian Air Traffic Controllers' Association
Slovenian Air Traffic Controllers' Association (SLOATCA) is a voluntary non-profit organization and it is a member of the International Federation of air traffic Controllers' Association (IFATCA). Association's members are Air Traffic controllers, Flight Data and Flight Information Service Officers and Aeronautical Information Specialists in Slovenia. SLOATCA was founded in 1988 with the main purpose of promoting safety, efficiency, and regularity in international air navigation as well as a high standard of knowledge and professional efficiency among members. It also assists and advises in the development of safe and orderly systems of Air Traffic Control. One of the objectives is also to protect and safeguard the interests of the Air Traffic Control profession and to make mutual benefit affiliations with other international professional organizations. Membership in SLOATCA gives you a chance to bring your voice to the international stage and to represent you. You gain access to information regarding new technologies and procedures, you can compare working conditions, salary, technology and gain a deeper understanding of the global ATC operations. Another very important function is that through IFATCA we are able to provide input into the ICAO processes. Generally, a relatively small employee representative body would not be recognized at this level. Through years of hard work, IFATCA has in the meantime gained a lot of recognition within the ICAO and has actively contributed to a number of ICAO initiatives, such as Fatigue Management and training policies. It is important that we have the ability to provide a balance between the state and service provider at this global level.
