Since 1979 SOFTLINE has created and produced innovative design furniture. Our company was established as a division of K. Balling-Engelsen a/s, a Danish producer of polyurethane foam for the furniture industry in Scandinavia. To develop business, SOFTLINE was set up to use the flexible foam in functional furniture for modern lifestyle and exploring the possibilities and potential of the material in new and innovative ways. Design has always been at the heart of SOFTLINE, where co-creating new attractive and timeless furniture together with internationally acclaimed designers placed SOFTLINE on the map of design in the 1980s and 1990s. Since 2003, SOFTLINE A/S has been an independent, privately owned enterprise with a factory in Denmark, where the upholstery craft is performed by hand based on Scandinavian traditions – in eco-friendly materials. Today, SOFTLINE A/S is an international brand and a leading provider of innovative, functional and high-quality design furniture for public spaces and domestic interior worldwide.
