Space Force Association – San Diego (SFA San Diego) serves as a vital bridge between the space and maritime communities in one of the nation’s most strategically important defense hubs. Situated at the intersection of space operations, naval warfare, and joint force integration, our chapter strengthens collaboration across the United States Space Force and the United States Navy, industry, and academia. San Diego plays a unique role in the national security space enterprise, particularly through its deep operational ties to naval space systems and satellite communications. A prime example is the region’s longstanding connection to the Mobile User Objective System (MUOS) program, an essential capability enabling secure, beyond-line-of-sight communications for joint and coalition forces worldwide. MUOS exemplifies how space and maritime domains are operationally intertwined, with San Diego at the center of that integration.
