Sprout by Design

We are a New York City based, women-owned company that specializes in design & education. Co-founders Ilona de Jongh and Leslie Dweck design products, services, systems and educational programs with an eye towards health, sustainability, social, environmental and economic impact. We build Outdoor Educational Wonderlands including: school gardens, greenhouses, fitness forts, educational playgrounds, chicken coops & observatories where students can lose themselves in a state of exploration & investigation. We pair these interactive learning spaces with fun, hands- on workshops and lesson plans that use nature as a practical tool to teach students the Common Core standards (math, science, social studies, language, arts) and broader concepts like problem solving, healthy eating, environmental stewardship and the green economy. Don't have green space? Don't worry. Experience has taught us to be crafty. We work in classrooms, nearby vacant lots, school parking lots, in nearby community gardens, even on rooftops.
