Norwegian Medical Products Agency
The Norwegian Medical Products Agency (DMP), also known as NoMA, is Norway’s national regulatory authority for pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and biological products. Operating under the Ministry of Health and Care Services, DMP ensures the safety, efficacy, and proper use of medical products while overseeing supply chain security and public health preparedness. DMP's mission is to provide rapid and equitable access to safe medical products. It collaborates with EU regulatory bodies, including the European Medicines Agency, to enhance healthcare outcomes. The agency grants market authorizations, evaluates pharmaceuticals for public funding, and manages national medical supply preparedness. DMP also maintains databases and operates vigilance programs to monitor safety issues. Its organizational structure includes various departments focused on medicinal product information, data distribution, health economics, and medical devices. DMP serves healthcare providers, pharmaceutical manufacturers, policymakers, and the public, integrating EU standards with national healthcare priorities.
