Originally trained as a biophysical chemist and USPTO patent agent, with 20 years of experience working in university tech transfer, research development and entrepreneurship, and an abiding passion for puzzles, I live my life on purpose through my company, STEMMbridge. STEMMbridge exists with the simple mission to exponentially increase economic strength and representation of women at all levels of leadership in STEMM based industries and organizations. Originally, from London, England, I specialize in coaching and consulting STEMM women from my hometown of Corvallis, Oregon, and across the USA, on how to use entrepreneurial skills, tactics and strategies to successfully reach their business, professional and personal goals. With STEMMbridge, I am creating a safe space for women to find and flex their entrepreneurial muscles and develop the skills, networks and confidence necessary to successfully launch, grow, and scale their businesses. This is important if we are to ever build a society where women have equal economic strength and representation at all levels of leadership. In the US, female founded companies generate only 4% of annual revenue and 8% employment despite the fact that 39% of all new businesses are founded by women. The problem isn’t encouraging women to start companies, it is encouraging and supporting women to start high impact, sustainable, mission driven companies designing products and services for themselves.
