Surrounded by fields, we are equidistant from Leicester, Loughborough & Melton Mowbray on the ancient Fosse Way where the A46 meets the A607 and the Wreake River gently meanders by. Though our address is Syston we are equally as close to Cossington & Queniborough with Rearsby, Sielby & Rothley only 5 mins travel time away. The Gate Hangs Well seeped in history was once the location of the toll ‘gate' on the turnpike and later an important stop off on the now disused Melton & Oakham Navigation which followed the route of the Wreake River from Syston to Melton. We have a huge car park, a huge family-friendly pub garden, a riverside garden, a Boathouse function room (with decking and views of the river), and an adjacent events field and that is before we introduce you to our indoors with 3 cosy winter fires and welcoming smiles. Open from 12 pm daily we serve proper pub grub locally sourced and homemade. We stock a great range of Everards Cask Ales plus draught lagers, wines, gin & spirits, sourcing and supporting local whenever we can. We are family & dog friendly with kids and canine menus. We cater for vegetarians, vegans and gluten-free as standard and are happy to accommodate any dietary requirement with notice. We are a great place for you to meet up, to find a cosy spot, to enjoy or shelter from the weather. We make a perfect addition to a day out in Leicestershire or a relaxed place to bring the family, we are well versed in looking after business customers or creating a little romance, we can host large scale outdoor events and intimate celebrations.
