THE GERMAN ACADEMY
The German Academy is setting up, running and supporting German language teaching in the UK. Working closely with the Association of German Saturday Schools UK, our aim is to promote and support language learning in the UK on a non-profit basis. We support language learning and bilingualism from an early age and promote cross-cultural understanding. We build and support German language schools, classes and events with low-cost, effective and adaptable management systems. The outcome is quality teaching and active language education for all ages and abilities. The German Academy is run by professionals with roots in the German speaking countries and many years of experience in running language establishments in the UK. Currently, The German Academy counts near 600 students. We are supported by the German Embassy London and funded primarily by contributions, and the huge commitment and engagement of our teachers, parents and students. The following are part of The German Academy: German Saturday Schools in Leicester, Peterborough, Derby, Reading, Milton Keynes, York, ONLINE Saturday School. The Language Kindergarten and the German Kindergarten in Leicester. After school clubs at Stoneygate School in Leicester and in Derby. We also offer private lessons and exam preparation. We are a licensed telc exam centre and regularly run internationally recognised telc exams based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Many of our lessons have moved online with Covid-19 restrictions. The latest information about our language settings and classes can be found on our website. We run regular events in the UK and in the German speaking countries - a ski week in Switzerland, a summer adventure week in Germany, Switzerland or Austria, a Sommerfest, a summer school and a Christmas concert in Leicester, and many more. Events only run when in agreement with local, national and global restrictions.
