The Walker Lela - Positive Films Foundation
The Walker Lela Foundation for Positive Films was founded in 2007, established in Trinidad and Tobago by Candice Lela Rolingson CSW, IVLP Public Health Advocate and Producer, the NGO was Co-founded by Stacy Lela an Educator, Writer & Director. The creative duo launched the social enterprise in 2010, with when they produced the award-winning Positive Film Series part one 'Alicia's Story' - Positive and Pregnant in 2010. In 2019 , WLF produced part two 'Marvin's Story'- Male Perspective Directed by Kendall Layne Films. The organization curated films for youths, titled the 'Born Free Film Collection' in 2020, featuring films from worldwide creators. The Foundation host a national outreach, screening film shows and workshops. Visiting learning organizations, communities and continues to partner with the National Library Information Systems of T&T [NALIS] with a mutual goal to provide access to information in marginalized areas.
