Trillion Trees Australia
Trillion Trees (formerly Men of the Trees) is a Western Australia not-for-profit, Incorporated Association, founded in 1979. Since that time, it has planted over15 million seedlings to prevent the spread of deserts, erosion and salinity. We hold the Guinness World Record for 100,450 trees planted simultaneously. A world audit of trees (2015), led by Crowther of Yale university and including universities around the world, shows there are three trillion trees left in the world. This is half of what there used to be at the start of civilisation, and numbers are still declining. Trees are essential to life as we know it. Here is our challenge to you to bring about the change the world needs: If each of the 7.5+ billion people on this planet plant 150 trees we will have 1 trillion more trees in the world OUR GUIDING STATEMENTS: ENVIRONMENT To restore degraded land, support biodiversity, and encourage the growth of healthy tree canopies in both urban and rural setting. SPIRIT We are directed by a vision of the world in which all people recognise the value of trees and forests COMMUNITY Our mission is to bring people together to grow, plant, establish and maintain trees to achieve a healthy, and biodiverse environment CORPORATE Individuals, communities, business and government are provided opportunities to financially support ecological restoration across WA to improve the health and sustainability of the land and grow biodiversity Telephone: (08) 9250 1888 Email: contact@trilliontrees.org.au
