The United Nations Sustainable Development Group System-Wide Evaluation Office (SWEO) provides independent evaluation evidence and insights to enhance learning, transparency, and accountability across the United Nations development system. By conducting system-wide evaluations, we foster collective learning and strengthen the United Nations contribution to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Operating as a standalone independent office within the United Nations Secretariat, the SWEO ensures impartiality and credibility in its evaluations. Guided by the UNSDG System-Wide Evaluation Policy, we provide strategic leadership in system-wide evaluation to contribute to evidence-based decision-making. The Office is led by the Executive Director, reporting directly to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, while maintaining operational independence to uphold the integrity of the system-wide evaluation function.
