Rural mango farmers experience loss due to many things. Unstructured markets, long value chains, pest infestation, poor transportation and a lack of cold storage, and the lack of accuracy of the traditional methods used to predict mango ripeness and readiness. Enter Vunatec. We take care of monitoring the crops so farmers know exactly the right time to harvest to bring the freshest fruit to market. Our focus is on supporting farmers with harvest timing by providing innovative UAV technology and formal training to reduce post-harvest food loss, and then giving them a digital platform to connect them with markets that can more fairly compensate them for their produce.
