Waterloo Region Community Legal Services
Waterloo Region Community Legal Services (WRCLS) is one of 76 community legal clinics across the province funded by Legal Aid Ontario. We serve the entire Waterloo Region including the cities of Kitchener, Waterloo, and Cambridge, and the townships of Wilmot, Wellesley, Woolwich, and North Dumfries. WRCLS has been serving the region since 1980. The staff is made up of seven Lawyers, a Paralegal, an Indigenous Justice Coordinator, a Social Worker, a Community Development Worker, a Community Legal Worker, and two Legal Support Staff providing a full range of legal and non-legal services. We provide legal assistance in specific areas of law to low-income individuals and families ranging from summary advice to full representation. We regularly offer legal education sessions on a variety of topics including tenants' rights, Wills, Estates and Power of Attorney, Criminal Injuries Compensation and Employment Law that are tailored to meet your group's needs. WRCLS also participates in law reform activities and community development activities. We are interested in improving the lives of people living in poverty and removing barriers that prevent community members from accessing justice.
