Wavemaker

Wavemaker is a digital-engagement specialist based at The Mitchell Arts Centre in Stoke-on-Trent. We integrate Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics (STEAM), into a broad and engaging curriculum to encourage our makers to make the most of their talents, so that they are better equipped for the challenges of tomorrow. Wavemaker strongly believes that everybody should have access to technology regardless of their background, education and ability. We are dedicated to raising digital engagement in and around Stoke-on-Trent, be that through enabling people to Skype their relatives for the first-time, send an email, or to become the next groundbreaking maker in 3D digital design. Wavemaker also supports businesses and communities in the local area. Wavemaker has, to-date, partnered with NHS Digital, Aspire Housing, North Staffs YMCA, and Stoke-on-Trent City Council, to provide digital-tech services for local businesses and communities. We offer digital upskilling workshops, STEAM workshops which compliment Key Stage 2 and 3 curriculum, and a mobile digital maker-space to raise digital-tech engagement around the city and beyond.
