Weyneshop Brewery
It started in 2014 when 2 friends and active boardmembers of the youth movement 'Weyneshof' were drinking a Triple in a local bar in Mechelen. One was wondering how such great beer was made, the other one replied: 'let's find out!' Because we serve up to 300 children a warm 3 course meal a day. Weyneshof's kitchen seemed the right place to start experimenting, not soley due to the fact that we allready could use big kettles but because we felt it had to start there. The first brew fermented and lagered in our very own castle under the watch of castleguard Paul Dignef. After that to improve our brewing methods we built a brewing installation out of 3 stainless steel 50L beer kegs with built in filters, pumps, valves and quick disconnect piping. We worked out some recipes and are ready to share it with you beerlovers, fanatics, beerstew chefs and our friends... Gezondheid/Santé/Cheers or 'Oep au bakkés' The previously known Weyneshop Tripel will be brewed soon and sold as "D'ravotter Tripel by Weyneshop Brewery". D'ravotter is an abbreviation of 'Drau ravotters', drau meaning '3' in the flemish dialect of Mechelen and ravotter is someone who ravots: -ravotten (ww.) to romp ; to frolic ; to romp around ; to horse around ; to let oneself go ; to run around wildly This was inspired by the logo of our youth movement organisation (portraying 3 people frolicking around) and by the later adapted logo of our brewery in honour to our beloved organisation.
