WestfalenWIND IT deals with the development of wind turbines for IT distribution concepts along sustainable energy generation infrastructures. For future IT needs and energy price developments, a symbiosis of conventional data centers and wind turbines has therefore been developed. With the WindCORES concept and the construction of power-intensive data centers, WestfalenWind IT demonstrates new economic paths for sustainable, high-performance and low-cost operations of IT systems. For this purpose, data centers are built directly into modern wind turbines, right where the sustainable electricity is produced and the necessary infrastructure, such as an expedient building, a powerful net supply and a respectable capacity of fiber optics, is already in place. The result of the upgrade - Compared to IT rooms in office buildings or conventional data centers, WindCORES IT systems are highly available and economically operating at the same time.
