Energy Futures Lab
The Energy Futures Lab is a collaborative platform of leaders accelerating the transition to a fit-for-the-future energy system for Alberta by: - Innovating, experimenting and learning - Engaging organizations to align and support change - Inspiring solution-oriented dialogue in the public We are convening a fellowship of leaders with diverse perspectives and abilities representing a microcosm of the energy system and capable of working together to address current and emerging energy challenges. Our fellowship includes oil and gas executives, clean tech and renewable energy entrepreneurs, First Nations leaders, economic development and municipal government officials, environmental groups, public engagement experts and university professors. We have come together around the question: How can Alberta's leadership position in today's energy system serve as a platform for transitioning to the energy system the future needs? What We Do We amplify our collective voice to reframe and depolarize the conversation and prototype the transition We connect influencers and innovators from across the system to form a network, share ideas and develop partnerships We inspire and engage key organizations, networks and sectors to align their efforts to shape Alberta's energy future. We develop initiatives and innovations with potential to advance the transition The Lab is convened by The Natural Step Canada, Suncor Energy Foundation, Pembina Institute, The Banff Centre, and the Government of Alberta.
